Apify: Insta Post Scraper

I scraped the latest 50 posts from the top 40 fashion accounts on Instagram using Apify, allowing me to gather a rich dataset of images that reflect current summer fashion trends. An automated scraping process was essential in collecting real-time data, which I later used for detailed image analysis and trend forecasting.

Image Segmentation

I utilized image segmentation to isolate specific elements within the fashion images, such as clothing items or accessories. By separating these elements from the background, I enhanced the visual clarity of the data, making it easier to categorize and analyze different fashion trends. This step was crucial in ensuring the accuracy of the trend identification process.

Latent Space Creation

I created a latent space representation of the segmented images using dimensionality reduction techniques like PCA. This transformation reduced the complexity of the data while retaining key features, allowing me to efficiently group similar images together, making it a crucial step in identifying underlying patterns in current fashion trends.

K-Means Clustering

I applied K-Means Clustering to the latent space representations to group together outfits with similar characteristics. By clustering these images, I was able to identify distinct fashion trends and visually represent how different styles are related. This method was integral to analyzing and understanding the connections between various fashion trends in the dataset.
